Global Orphan Fund
The Global Orphan Fund, locally known as the GO Fund, is set up to protect and support orphans in Nicaragua. Doug and Julie Effinger are the primary in country representatives based in Jinotepe. Projects sponsored by the GO Fund include everything from transitional housing facilities for teenage orphans to the construction of local schools and additional housing facilities for children and families in need. The number of children served and housed by the Global Orphan Fund rises on a monthly basis, therefore additional funding is always needed for individual child sponsorships and the expansion of project housing and facilities.
Administration fees for the GO Fund are kept to a minimum to guarantee that 95% of all your financial donations will be directed to those in need. A donation to the GO Fund is an investment in the quality of life and education of orphaned children in Nicaragua.
Its flagship project, Casa Juan Marcos, is a home for young men who have grown up in orphanages and are transitioning into independence in Nicaragua.
We are also affiliated with the works of Messiah Project, an organization in Nicaragua that runs an orphanage, Land of Judah, and support indigenous church planting areas in remote areas of the country. We also have made impacts into many other orphanages in Nicaragua and hope to continue supporting children and community projects at all levels of this impoverish nation.
